 Dr. Brian Huff is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract (lens replacement) surgery, laser refractive surgery (for visual freedom from glasses/contacts), and lasers for glaucoma treatment. He is a leader in utilizing the most advanced technologies that can free individuals from the dependence on glasses and contact lenses. Some of his favorite technologies include: custom PRK / LASIK, Multifocal Intraocular lenses (Restor, Tecnis Multifocal, Crystalens), the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens for high nearsightedness, and the Toric Intraocular lens for the correction of astigmatism. He has performed over 10,000 lens replacement (cataract) surgeries and is able to combine multiple technologies to create custom premium options for patients that many eye surgeons are unable to offer. Dr. Huff also works with most eye doctors in South Carolina to allow you to benefit from these advanced surgery options with him and yet still remain a long term patient of your current eye doctor.
Dr. Huff graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1988, received his MD degree from Louisiana State University in 1992, and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Ochsner Clinics in New Orleans in 1996. He moved to Columbia, SC, to join The Eye Center in July of 1996. He developed and oversees the outpatient surgery center experience that our patients have enjoyed for many years. Sharing his surgical skills on the mission field is one of his greatest privileges. He and his wife and children live in Columbia , SC, and they enjoy playing outdoors – especially tennis, snow skiing, riding horses, and boating.
